Use 0 for an increase that does not apply. Include VAT in all costs. Add any exit fees to upfront fees. This model supports two increases and excludes cashback, uncertain rewards, proration and any later increases.

How to enter an increase

If the new price starts on your seventh full bill, enter 6 in “Months before first increase”. If a later increase adds another £3 from bill 19, enter 3 as the second monthly increase and 18 as the months before it. The second amount is added to the first; it is not the new total monthly price.

Compare like for like

Use the same term and VAT treatment. Put known exit charges in upfront fees, and include hardware you actually need. A cost comparison does not establish availability, minimum speeds, service quality or compatibility. A faster plan will not necessarily fix a weak upstairs Wi-Fi signal.

What this leaves out

This model does not handle partial first bills, calendar-date proration, uncertain rewards or more than two price changes. Enter only confirmed figures, check the provider's contract, and use its full schedule when the assumptions do not fit.
