Three things the room needs
| Requirement | What to check |
|---|---|
| Data link | A usable Ethernet route back to the existing network. This is not a wireless repeater. |
| Power | V3 documents PoE+ or DC power options. The manufacturer lists a DC adapter; confirm the actual UK seller package. |
| Placement | A suitable indoor mounting position for the room, following the manufacturer instructions. |
The access point has one Gigabit Ethernet uplink. Your existing router still provides the upstream connection; a plain Ethernet switch does not supply PoE power. Match the exact documented power method rather than assuming every PoE label means the same thing.
Decide how it will be managed
Check whether standalone management covers the functions you need. Some coordinated Omada features require a controller. Do not assume a single access point adds every feature of a managed multi-unit network, or that it becomes a Deco node.
Match V3 and its support evidence
TP-Link’s September 2026 statement lists EAP610 V3 through 29 June 2029. Other revisions have different entries. A similarly named listing is not enough: confirm the hardware version, UK power package and support terms before paying. No seller listing or paid destination is activated here.

When a different choice fits
For one fixed TV or desk, a direct cable may be all you need. For a coordinated system across several locations, compare compatible mesh options and their operating modes. If there is no viable cable route, resolve that choice before ordering this access point.
